Unusual Mortality Events is a collective puppet poem of wonder and grief with a 16 foot Humpback Whale puppet accompanied by a chorus of singers. Inspired by the audio recordings of Humpbacks, Fin, Sei, and North Atlantic Right Whales recorded just off the coast of NYC, the singers will create songs of oceanic awe and ship strike grief playing with whale intervals, rhythm and song structure.
