MJ Markovitz (Ballez dancer) is a performer based in Brooklyn, NY. They currently work as a freelance artist, dance for Ballez, and collaborate with their sexysmartamazingreallycoolandgay friends. They have now returned to land after performing at sea, onboard Virgin Voyages’ flagship, the Scarlet Lady. A former dropout, MJ attends Columbia University part-time, completing an undergraduate degree in American Studies. He has previously attended The Ailey School (Professional Division, scholarship) and Hunter College (CUNY). MJ teaches Beginner Ballez, has been a guest teaching artist at Steps on Broadway and The New School, and is a member of the ballet faculty at Gibney Dance. When he’s not dancing, MJ can be found upcycling clothing, getting lost in a good book, or watching (probably too much) reality TV. MJ hails from the farmlands of New England, their childhood consisting of playing in the mud, eating smiley-face french fries, competition dance, and arguing with adults about being able to carry heavy things.
