Marie Gabrielle Arco

German-American mezzo-soprano Marie-Gabrielle Arco recently completed her Master’s degree in Music at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.  With the Manhattan School of Music Opera Theater, Ms. Arco performed the role of Sesto in Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito, conducted by Maestro George Manahan (NYCO, Portland Opera). In her time at MSM, she also participated in a collaborative workshop with American Opera Projects as Madame de Dombreuil in Michael Dellaira’s The Leopard and performed in an outreach program at middle, and lower schools in Manhattan as Prince Charmant in an english version of Massenet’s Cendrillon. This past summer, Ms. Arco performed the role of Second Lady from Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with Tel Aviv Summer Opera. In Tel Aviv, she also performed part of Schumann’s Frauenliebe und -Leben  with pianist Kevin Murphy. In the summer of 2017, she performed the full role of Charmant in Massenet’s Cendrillon under the baton of Maestro Christopher Larkin (HGO, WNO) and also the role of Mago in Handel’s Rinaldo as a young artist at the Trentino Music Festival. 

Other performance credits include Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus (Prinz Orlofsky), Yeston’s Nine (Claudia) with the Trentino Music Festival; Cendrillon (Prince Charmant) with Amato Opera-in-brief; L’incoronazione di Poppea (Ottavia) with Princeton University Opera Theater; Vivaldi’s Teuzzone (Zelinda) with Princeton Musica Alta; and Amelia goes to the Ball (Friend) with Princeton Opera Company. Scene work includes Der Rosenkavalier (Octavian), Pelléas et Mélisande (Geneviève), and Hänsel und Gretel (Hansel) with Princeton Opera Company. Ms. Arco participated in a number of training programs including the Sommerakademie Mozarteum in Salzburg, Académie International at the Nice Conservatory, and Chautauqua Institute. In 2014, Ms. Arco completed her Bachelor of Arts in History with a certificate in Vocal Performance at Princeton University. She currently resides in Berlin, Germany.
