Caleb Alexander Wright

Caleb Alexander Wright is a 28 year old actor, vocalist and writer originally hailing from Cleveland Heights, OH. Alex has been performing locally and nationally since he was 10 years old. He is a classically trained bass-baritone, with a focus in opera and classical music. In addition to being a professional opera singer, Alex specializes in gospel, musical theatre, soul, jazz, r&b, folk and rock music. He has been a featured soloist both locally and nationally for multiple musical organizations. Alex started his own band in 2018 entitled Alexander Wright & The Collective. The band is a musician’s collective specializing in jazz, r&b, rock and original contemporary music. The band plays regularly throughout New York. They have been featured performers this year at Minton’s Playhouse, Mezzrow Jazz Club, Small’s Jazz Club, Cloakroom Harlem, The Club Room, Arthur’s Tavern, Birdland Jazz Club and more. Alexander was a Karamu House Room In The House Resident as apart of the 2019 Cohort. During his residency he completed a concert series exploring the impact of African-Americans in American Music. Alexander currently resides in Harlem , New York and has been working regularly in the New York Scene as a vocalist and actor. Pre-COVID he was cast in a role in “Deep Blue Sea” a biographical operetta written and directed by famed Broadway choreographer Bill T. Jones at The Park Avenue Armory. In 2021 Alexander originated the role of “jazzy” a 1930’s Harlem-based queer jazz musician. Outside of performing regularly with his band Alexander Wright & The Collective and working as a classical soloist and actor, Alex spends his time writing both plays and novels. He is also a cantor and featured soloist for three churches in New York, Christ Church Riverdale and Church of The Heavenly Rest, and Mother AME Zion. Alexander and the band just recorded their first album which will be released later this year.
