The Sightlines Gala
The Event
Join us on May 6th for The Sightlines Gala celebrating our newest performance program, Sightlines: a month-long residency for a group of choreographers at Coffey Street Studio in Red Hook, culminating in 6 nights of performances of four original works.
This is our largest dance program to date, curated and created by A+J Founding Director Amanda Hameline, along with co-curator Hollis Bartlett, to directly address the needs of the dance community.
The Sightlines Choreographers will each receive more than 40 hours of rehearsal in the performance space, consultation with a lighting designer and a lengthy technical rehearsal, three performances, creative consultation, the opportunity to share their process through free classes for the community, and payment for their hard work.
Each performance will feature a rotating series of split bills so no two evenings are the same, providing both the choreographers and audiences with new “sightlines” into each piece.
